With our wines you will discover other nuances that will awaken your senses. Enjoy them at meals with family and friends, they will create in you a very special memory.

Our wines are made only with grapes from our own vineyards.
We follow environmentally friendly practices and, since 2008, we cultivate our land in an ecological way. Our vines are between 20 and 35 years old. We believe in the authenticity of our landscape, that is why we make our wines with the native and traditional varieties of Terra Alta, such as Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha Tinta and Garnacha Peluda.
Trufes
This name means the origin of the change. It is the name of a part of the municipality where we inherited our first estate in 1993, which was uncultivated, with the condition of planting vines on it. Moreover, this name represents the land, the territory, the Earth, the depth and the roots.
Flor de Trufes
In order to expand and complete the Trufes range, Flor de Trufes is born, 100% Garnacha monovarietals (white and red) from a single estate. Both are aged in oak barrels for a few months. With them we want to transmit the essence of Terra Alta, the purity of Grenache.
Vins Algars
This line of wines is made from young and middle-aged vines from our estates. The name is the same as the name of the winery, to pay homage to its origins and more than eighty years of history. Opposites attract each other, youth and antiquity, innovation and tradition. The image is the one we have chosen for our logo. Our initials linked (F/S) in the shape of a bunch of grapes and the texture of a vine. Our common life project.
Our Job
At Vins Algars we work with passion throughout the entire winemaking process.
Planting and care of the vineyard, manual harvesting of the grapes, winemaking, bottling and marketing. We start and close the circle.
We control every moment of the process ourselves. With this we can ensure a perfect quality of the fruit, which gives us a wine with great attributes and particularities.
We love our land and our landscape, and we want to transmit all this to you in every bottle.
The Winery
In 1940 the first grapes entered in the small winery located in the town of Batea. After the Civil War, Antonio and Nicanor Tarragó Solé, together with their father, started the project that the new generations proudly continue to develop. The winery was named after the street where it is located, also after the river that irrigates part of our region, and that gives us so much life… And this is how we have kept it.
The Vineyards
Our 32 hectares of vineyards are located in different areas and altitudes in Batea. We have estates on the slopes of the River Algars, where the soil is chalky and very stony. Others, at higher altitudes, are characterised by a more clayey-calcareous soil. The different altitudes and the composition and texture of the soils offer us a lot of variety in the characteristics of the grapes, such as acidity, concentration of aromas, minerality…
With a very hot climate in summer, cold in winter and scarce rainfall, in Terra Alta there are two winds. The Cierzo, from the northeast, dry and cold, and the Garbí, a south wind coming from the sea, humid and cool.
The thermal amplitude between day and night, and the two winds that embrace our lands, give us ideal conditions for the ripening of the grapes.
In our home we feel more protected and secure. We send our wines directly from the winery to your home, so that they arrive in the best conditions and you can enjoy a unique experience. The wines will thank us for it.
